my Garbage...

I used to be so obsessed with Garbage and Shirley Manson. 7th and 8th grade i would rock Garbage t-shirts and i thought i was so cool. I was basically in love with Shirley. Wesley can confirm it. To this day I still listen to them on a regular basis.

i just stumbled upon this video and i all came rushing back to me. Hahaha. I Love Garbage, they rock my world!

P.S. The drummer Butch Vig along with buddy Jerry Finn produced AFI's Sin The Sorrow album. And also, Nirvana's Nevermind album, Blink 182's Dude Ranch album, Greed Day's Dookie album, to name a few.

Integrity....

Not many musicians in the music world have integrity. You see them on Perez Hilton and other places running around LA looking for attention, trying to get people to talk about them. Its age old behavior of the Hack. With that said....

I was thinking about what attracts me to music and things that i look for when seeking out new music. The Biggest part is always the music (lyrics, voice, instrument, uniqueness). Almost as important to me is Integrity and sincerity. I cant like a band/musician that doesn't respect themselves enough to play music with their heart and do it for the music. The way people act is a look at their integrity.

As i look at my favorite musicians and who i and others see as the greatest musicians of our time. They weren't the artists that are the Hollywood socialites, hack comedian, or the ones who sought out attention just as importantly as they wrote their half hearted music. They were the opposite. Those artists sell records and people love them, but for those reasons stated before...sadly.

The Musicians i SEE and most importantly FEEL integrity from (some new some old):

Robert Smith / The Cure (no explanation needed)

Davey Havok / AFI (one of the only TRUE voices/lyricists in music today that has stood the test of time. Modern day god of glam. Cant be put in words)

Landon Ginnings / The Wedding (sincere and not ashamed of his Christian beliefs and sings his heart out)

Rob Flynn / Machine Head (some of the most intense and heartfelt lyrics/songs i have/will ever hear in my life have come from this man)

Nick 13 / Tiger Army (amazing guitarist and unique vocalist of imaginative songs)

Ronan Harris & Mark Jackson / VNV Nation

Claudio Sanchez / Coheed and Cambria (imaginative, nerdy, modest, just a flat out amazing musician)

there are more, these for now...

look out...

Tokio Hotel are HUGE in Europe. They are from Germany. They are releasing their first English CD next month, and "Ready, Set, Go" will be a hit, Its a good song.I have a leak of upcoming CD, but unfortunatly there are only a few good songs on it, but then again they are young and have time to grow and progress.

Just by the way these kids look, they will do well here in the states....(an yes the lead singer in a guy not a girl)

They just released the official video for "Ready, Set, Go"
